For more than thirty years, Brian Archibald has remained immersed in the technologies of personal computing, networks, and technical infrastructure.  He has designed, built, and administered the IT/IS systems and infrastructure for the fastest growing cultural attraction retail management company in North America.  He has consulted for some of the most prestigious organizations and corporations in the US, providing professional IT/IS services to effectively forward their missions.  Through these experiences, Brian has developed an intimate understanding of technology and its role in reaching and surpassing corporate and organizational goals.  Brian offers a wealth of experience in IT systems integration, a strong set of leadership and communication skills, and an effective, systems-oriented approach to solution development.

Cultural Attraction Retail Management
2002 to 2011

  • Directed, implemented and administered all aspects of IT in the management of retail operations for 65+ world-class cultural attractions such as zoos, museums, aquariums, science centers, and botanical gardens across North America
  • Administered VMware systems on Compellent SAN infrastructure with Windows 2008/2003 OS and SQL 2008/2005/2000 DB servers – more than 90 VM’s on multi-host systems with offsite replication for DR/BC failover
  • Installed, configured, and administered Active Directory and Exchange systems
  • Installed, configured, and administered WinRetail RMS and Tradewind POS systems
  • Set and met budgets; negotiated with vendors; specified and purchased systems and software
  • Managed a staff of three IT support technicians and two.NET/SQL/Access programmers
  • Managed contracted field-support technicians for on-site installations, upgrades, and repairs
